C-390 also known as 4-(9-chloro-9,10-dihydro-10-phenyl-9-acridinyl)-N,N-diethyl-benzeneamine, is potentially useful for its antibacterial properties. It is employed for selective isolation of Pseudomunas Aeruginosa from other bacterial species. In Microbiology C-390 is used in discs to allow the differentiation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from other Pseudomonas spp. and non-ferementers based on the diameter of the zone of inhibition produced following incubation.
