Tamoxifen
Tamoxifen, sold under the brand name Nolvadex among others, is a medication that is used to prevent breast cancer in women and treat breast cancer in women and men. It is also being studied for other types of cancer. Importantly, tamoxifen has been reported to act as an ER agonist in bone and blood vessels, helping to minimize osteoporosis and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in post-menopausal women. Also, tamoxifen is a partial ER agonist in uterine tissues and is reported to increase the risk of endometrial carcinoma.
