Silver Nitrate
Silver nitrate is an inorganic compound with chemical formula AgNO 3. This compound is a versatile precursor to many other silver compounds, such as those used in photography. It is far less sensitive to light than the halides.
Also used in some countries as a semi-permanent ink or dye that is applied to the forefinger (usually) of voters during elections in order to prevent electoral fraud such as double voting. It is an effective method for countries where identification documents for citizens are not always standardised or institutionalised.
