Proflavine Hemisulphate
Proflavine Hemisulphate is the hemisulfate salt form of proflavine, an acridine-derived fluorescent contrast and disinfectant agent that can potentially be used for cellular imaging and antiseptic purposes. In the field of aquarium fish it is used to treat a variety of ailments from fungal infections in fish to disinfecting. It can be used to kill all protozoan parasites including Costia, White Spot, Chilodonella and Trichodena. It may also be used as an alternative to Malachite Green for treatment of disease in scale-less fish such as Carp fish,Koi fish, catfish, elephant-nose, and some members of the Characin family.
