Polymixin B Sulfate
Polymixin B Sulfate is an antibiotic primarily used for resistant Gram-negative infections. It is derived from the bacterium Bacillus polymyxa. Polymixin B Sulphate is used for treating eye infections caused by certain bacteria.
It is also widely used in microbiology as a component in a selective supplement for the isolation of Brucella species. It has bactericidal action on most gram-negative bacilli, including E. Coli and on most fungi and gram-positive bacteria.
