Polyanetholesulfonic acid sodium salt is a polymer of anetholesulfonic acid.
It is used as a component in Schaedler Anaerobe Broth, a broth version of Schaedler Anaerobe Agar for the general growth of anaerobes and for use as a blood culture medium and for the cultivation of especially fastidious Bacteroides species.
