Pentoxyverine Citrate
Carbetapentane/Pentoxyverine citrate is the citrate form of Carbetapentane. Carbetapentane is a non-opiod antitussive and anticonvulsant agent. Carbetapentane binds with high affinity to its site in the brain. It has shown to increase the effectiveness of diphenylhydantoin (DPH), a prototypic antiepileptic drug. Additionally reported to be a useful agent in studies of epilepsy treatments. Carbetapentane citrate is an inhibitor of KOR-3 and an activator of σ Receptor 1.
