N,N’-Carbonyldiimidazole (CDI) is a coupling agent used in the synthesis of dipolar polyamides for nonlinear optical applications and polypeptides. It is also used to make β-keto sulfones and sulfoxides, lead sequestering agents and β-enamino acid derivatives.
