Gentamicin sulfate including strains resistant to tetracycline, chloramphenicol, kanamycin, and colistin, particularly strains of Pseudomonas, Proteus, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus. Gentamicin sulfate inhibits bacterial protein biosynthesis by binding to the 30S subunit of the ribosome.
