EGTA (ethylene glycol-bis(β-aminoethyl ether)-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetic acid), also known as egtazic acid, is an aminopolycarboxylic acid, a chelating agent. It is a colourless solid that is related to the better known EDTA. It is often used as a useful chelating agent for the determination of calcium in the presence of magnesium.
