Erythrocin Stearate (erythromycin stearate) is an antibiotic used to treat or prevent a wide variety of bacterial infections. Common side effects of Erythrocin Stearate include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain or cramping, loss of appetite, and heartburn. Erythromycin stearate is used to study leucocyte motility and transformation and on release in vitro of prostaglandin E2 by stimulated leucocytes. It is also used to study abnormal polymorphonuclear leucocyte migration and chemotaxis
