Eosin Y Disodium Salt
Eosin Y Disodium Salt also know under C.I. 45380. Eosin Y is a xanthene dye and is used for the differential staining of connective tissue and cytoplasm. Also used as a background stain, giving contrast to nuclear stains. In Microbiology also used as a component in Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (Modified) (Levine), used for the differentiation of Escherichia coli and Enterobacteria aerogenes and also for rapid identification of Candida albicans.
