D-(+)-Fucose
D-(+)-Fucose may be used to study enzymes involved in its mutarotation to form L-fucose. It may be used as a reference compound in the analysis of carbohydrate metabolites. D-Fucose may be used to study biological processes such as adhesion.
In dermatology and cosmetics it is reported to be useful in the treatment of disease involving hyperproliferation of dermis cells, in particular, psoriasis.
