Cochliodinol is an antibiotic metabolite of Chaetomium cochliodes and C. globosum. Cochliodinol is the first reported asterriquinone structure isolated from Chaetomium species. Asterriquinone is an antitumor metabolite, and thus cochliodinol has been reported to exhibit antitumor activity.
