Carbenicillin Disodium Salt
Carbenicillin Disodium Salt is the disodium salt form of carbenicillin, a broad-spectrum, semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotic with bactericidal and beta-lactamase resistant activity.
In Microbiology it has been used as a component in a Selective Supplement used for the isolation of Aeromonas hydrophila. Its mechanism of action is the same as ampicillin. It interferes with cell wall synthesis of gram-negative bacteria while displaying low toxicity to plant tissues.
