Ansatrienin B is an ansamycin antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces, and contains a triene structure. It displays antitumor antibiotic activity, potentiating significantly the action of many clinical antitumor agents. It also displays potent anticancer activities. Ansatrienin B has been reported to inhibit parathyroid hormone-stimulated bone resorption in a concentration-dependent manner.
