Maltotriose
A Discovery speciality
Maltotriose is a trisaccharide consisting of three D- glucose linked by glycoside bonds of type α 1-4. It shares the same structure as the maltose containing only two glucose units. Its official name is the α-D-glucopyranosyl (1 → 4) α-D-glucopyranosyl (1 → 4) D-glucopyranose. It is produced mainly by the action of an α- amylase on amylose , a type of starch .
Maltotriose can be used in research, biochemical enzyme assays and in vitro diagnostic analysis.
