CHAPSO is a unique detergent with high CMC that solubilizes membrane-bound proteins in their native state. CHAPSO is capable of solubilizing opiate receptor to a state exhibiting reversible binding of opiates. Has higher solubility than CHAPS because of its more polar head group.
